Want to give us feedback or need help from our patient advice centre?
We welcome your feedback, comments and suggestions on your experience or your care.
There are lots of ways you can tell us, for example, you can send your message of thanks on social media and we will share or re-tweet it, we always pass this on to the team you mention.
We know that things don’t always go as expected, so please speak to the Ward Manager on the ward, a senior person in the department or the Matron for the area who will make every effort to help you and resolve your concern so that we can quickly put things right.
We can also offer assistance through our Patient Advice and Complaints Service. The team are happy to listen and understand your feedback; they will help to hopefully resolve your problem, sharing your comments with the appropriate teams so we can learn from your experience and improve our services for future patients.

The patient advice team are available Monday to Friday, 9am – 4pm. If you need to speak with someone outside these hours, a senior nurse or hospital site manager is always available.

The communications team is responsible for media enquiries on behalf of Airedale NHS Foundation Trust and we endeavour to respond to your request as soon as possible, within reasonable timescales.
During office hours
During office hours, all media enquiries should be directed to the communications team. This is particularly important in ensuring that information given about Airedale NHS Foundation Trust is accurate and consistent.
Out-of-hours and weekends
Outside office hours, at weekends and bank holidays, the on-call site manager will deal with urgent media enquiries relating to Airedale NHS Foundation Trust.

Freedom of Information requests
What is the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)?
The FOIA 2000 gives everyone the right to see the information held by public authorities including NHS Trusts. The Act is intended to promote a culture of openness and accountability, to help the public understand how public authorities carry out their business, how decisions are made and how public money is spent. There are exceptions under the Act including personal information and information that is easy to access elsewhere.
Our publication scheme describes the information that the Trust will routinely make available.
How do I make a request?
- You can ask for any information you think a public authority may hold.
- You should identify the information you want as clearly as possible.
- Please tell us how you want to receive the information e.g. letter, email.
- Some information may not be given to you because it is exempt, for example because it is personal information.

What will the Trust do?
- acknowledge your request
- help you to make your request if necessary and advise and assist you to identify the information you are looking for
- confirm whether the information is held by the Trust
- either provide the information in the format you have requested or explain why we cannot provide it (i.e. if an exemption applies). We aim to respond to requests within 20 working days of receipt.
- If you feel we are not complying with our publication scheme, you feel your request has not been properly handled or you are dissatisfied with the outcome, you can write to Brendan Brown, Chief Executive, at the above address and request our decision is reviewed. If you are dissatisfied with the outcome of that review, you then have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner under S50 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000Information Commissioner’s Office
